So you need to do 2 things with the smithy, upgrade the smithy as a building & then upgrade any troops you have researched in that village especially if you intend on having a lot of that type As more crop, the troop consumes as higher the improvement effect is. The upgrade in the smithy depends on the upkeep of the respective troop:
_4 = + 6.14% _+1.57%.

So Upgrading The Offensive Units In Your Smithy Is Important So That You Can Destroy The Smithy To Make Room For Needed Buildings.
